Who is Colin Zappia
I was born in Moncton, NB, but have been in Ottawa since 1980 and currently reside in Barrhaven.
For 7+ years I worked as a buyer in the high tech world, gaining valuable negotiating experience while sharpening my relationship building skills. I then moved on to a sales role in the non-profit world, helping to raise over $6 million for the Ottawa community. Having been on both sides of the negotiating process has helped me gain valuable insight into the minds of buyers and sellers. I’m also a Master Certified Negotiation Expert which certainly helps in the buying and selling of homes.
Outside of my professional experience, I spent many years coaching hockey at various levels. I’ve also been involved with Rogers TV since 2005, both behind and in front of the camera and am currently the colour commentator for Ottawa 67’s broadcasts. I’m also on the Board of Directors with an organization called Project North (www.projectnorth.ca) in which we’ve donated over a million dollars of brand new hockey equipment to various communities in Nunavut and northern Canada.
Through both of these avenues, I have learned the importance of teamwork – something I believe is key in buying, selling and/or investing in real estate. My goal is to build long-term and lasting relationships that don’t end just because the transaction might have.

Before placing on the market, I’ll analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your home and give you tips on upgrades or repairs that are necessary to improve your home’s value and those that are optional. Once listed, I’ll provide feedback from showings to provide insight on what buyers and other agents are saying about your home.
I’ll try to make your life easier and take some of the stress out of the buying process. We’ll work together to establish your requirements for location, living space and price. I’ll then administer appointments and arrange viewings, all while accommodating your busy schedule.
I’ll provide you with an objective opinion that considers all aspects of a property, not just its presentation and will help guide you in the right direction. When you have found “the one”, I’ll represent you during tough negotiations, keeping your focus on the business transaction while smoothing the process if emotions interfere.
